A gracious, relaxed family town

Seaview is a family town with a strong community. Events center around the Synagogue where residents gather. Life is relaxed in this lovely town.

About Seaview

A strongly family-oriented town, several generations living here are the norm.

The heart of the community is the Fire Island Synagogue. It is a community center holding religious and community events including classes, discussions, concerts, book openings, performances and Seaview Association meetings.

It recently celebrated its 65-year anniversary of holding services. The current building was designed by architect Abe Silverman in 1972 and opened on Beachwold (“B” street) and Central Walk 1973.

Their website describes the Synagogue as “egalitarian services that blend tradition and innovation with prayer, learning, and joyful music that is open and accessible across denominations,” with an “informal island atmosphere, where kippah and tallit often accompany shorts and sandals, is welcoming.”
