Walking west on the main road you will pass through Corneille Estates and FI Summer Club on your way to Ocean Beach.
These two Fire Island Towns are each just 2 blocks each, nestled in the trees.
The distinctive red tiled roof and watch tower of the magnificent landmark FI Summer Club building building will alert visitors that they are in this matchbox community.
The clubhouse was originally the Coast Guard station at Blue Point before being moved here in the 1920’s. It is now used as the community clubhouse.
The Woodhull School, the island’s first rate elementary school is here, just over the border of Ocean Beach.
Many of the 60 or so children of the island’s year-round residents ride the school bus over the beach to get here.
The school’s facilities include a sports field, basketball court, and library.
Ferries, shopping, restaurants and services are found in neighboring Ocean Beach.
